Topic: How to Stand Out in a Crowded Market

Andrea Pattico (known to all as Ange) is the Chief People Officer at Universal Music Group UK. An accredited Executive Coach, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), and a Trustee of Stewardship—the UK’s 11th largest charity—Ange also chairs its People, Culture and Place Committee.

With three decades of experience in senior global People roles across industries including film, BPO/ITO, online retail, e-commerce, and online comparison platforms, Ange now leads the people agenda at the world’s foremost music company. Music—one of her lifelong passions—is now at the heart of her professional purpose.

Since joining UMG UK 18 months ago, Ange has been driving a transformation of the People, Inclusion, and Culture (PIC) function alongside a dedicated team of people professionals. Together, they are designing and delivering pioneering initiatives aimed at supporting UMG’s mission to break new artists globally and enhancing the people experience.

Ange also sits on the UK Music Taskforce and the CIISA Council, helping shape policy and best practice across the wider music and creative industries.

Previously, Ange co-created and led a People Strategy that transformed a former organisation’s culture, resulting in seven people-related awards—including reaching the number one spot in The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For in 2020.

She is passionate about coaching, leadership development and building people-centred cultures that fuel both commercial growth and personal purpose. Ange’s mission is clear: to help people become the best versions of themselves—and to leave every organisation much better than she found it.
